Huru is a service that simplifies all household bills to one payment per month for customers across the UK. It consists of a full interactive sign-up process, which delivers customers a quote for all of their utilities in a house over a year, and also allows customers to split that bill between their housemates equally. The sign up process requires giving customers a quote across multiple services and getting multiple customers to sign up to the same account.
There was a big challenge to make this complex process as easy as possible for the end user. The sign up remembers it’s state between page switching, is fully responsive, and analyses users inputs to help them finish the quoting process. All this is fully implemented in WordPress, via a customer template and client-side scripting. Huru was acquired and is currently operated by Glide.
For a czech-based startup powering well-established SmartSupp and SmartLook services, we helped by covering their content part of the sites, which was fully developed in Wordpress. The main focus is in the FAQ, Help and Support sections of the startups. We designed the new look and implemented it in Wordpress using custom content types (ACF plugin) and a custom template. To help their editors to create rich and helpful content, we introduced a number of shortcodes with various configuration options. We also heavily use WPML throughout the site, as both services are fully international. At last, a lot of effort was put in to create a server configuration that runs the site fast enough, so it’s not penalized by the Wordpress choice - using PHP 7 and MySQL 5.7 we managed to improve the response times dramatically.
For a partner development agency in the UK, we developed two large websites based on WordPress. One was for a construction and property management company, featuring a large collection of custom content types (using ACF plugin), dynamic listings with interactive filtering, a set of CSS animations, and advanced caching mechanisms. The other was a digital agency portfolio, heavily design-oriented site made completely with advanced CSS animations. Both projects were managed and tuned up via Asana, where the client and designer reacted to iterations and offered their detailed feedback.
